Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

What a great month it has been for Sirius College. In the past few weeks our students have been treated to a number of exciting events. We were honoured to host the talented author Morris Gleitzman. The children were inspired by his motivational words and had their favorite books signed. Literacy and numeracy week were also a great opportunity for our students to express their interests in these fields, engaging in a variety of fun packed learning activities. Furthermore, science week enabled our students to have a glimpse of the broad science world, by observing, and even taking part in some very interesting experiments. It was also magnificent to see our students improve their articulation and public speaking skills in the debating and spelling competitions.

Thank you to all of our beloved teachers and students who enabled these events to be run with success.

This year's NAPLAN results have once again been great. It is fulfilling to see that our NAPLAN results continue to reflect the high educational standard at our school and we are motivated to improve even further with time.

Generosity is a virtue we greatly value at Sirius College. Like always, this year's Qurban campaign has provided our students with an opportunity to recognize the value of all that they have, and support those who are in need. It is heartwarming to see students, parents and staff coming together in an effort to maximize our ability to help those who need it most. Students are encouraged to take part in this worthy cause and will be treated to the Qurban Fun Festival on the 16th of September at the Eastmeadows Campus.

Term 3 reports will be finalised next week and will be posted to the parents.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone for their efforts throughout the term and congratulate the Sirius family once again for another successful term. I wish our students, parents and staff an energizing holiday and look forward to see you all here again on the 4th of October, 2016.

Happy Eid,

Deniz Yildirim
